This large painting in the Sunderland Town Hall is a view from the Whately side of the River. Looking across the river to the Sunderland side, the artist painted a white house in the location of 1 Old Amherst Road. This conjecture is based on what looks like the original cemetery on the east river bank, and River Road running north and south. If accurate, it shows the location of the Graves House barn.
